Horn will be taking on the former IBO World Champion Ali Funeka; who is coming off a string of victories after falling short in his first title defense against Tsiko Mulovhedzi- getting stopped in the 5th round. Since then, Funeka is back in the winning circle, and will look to put a stop in the impressive Horn's unbeaten streak.
Horn's last fight- an impressive outing against German Rico Mueller (20-2-1) resulted in a TKO victory in the 7th round for the Aussie- sending a message to the rest of the welterweight division.
Speaking on his bout with Mueller and his earlier contest with Randall Bailey in April, Horn belives that "those two bouts were long awaited fights back home in Brisbane. It was awesome to have a lot of people I know cheering for me. I also feel like I am getting better with every fight. It's like my body is preparing me for the big fights coming soon.
Now ranked inside the top 15 in all 4 major sanctioning bodies, Horn is well-and-truly on his way towards a world title shot. Rated #2 in both the IBF and the WBO, Horn will likely look to put on a show on Saturday- sending a message to champions Kell Brook and Manny Pacquiao.
Horn is rearing for such an opportunity; stating that "I am almost within reach of a world title fight. If I can dominate and win convincingly it increases my chances of fighting a great such as Pacquiao before he retires."
